Alexandra Myhill-Jones is Thrive Modern Health’s lead practitioner and clinical counselor. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Minnesota, and holds a Master of Education degree, Bachelor of Education degree, and Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia, Canada. She is a seasoned educator, with 7 years of experience in private and public school systems, both as an elementary school teacher and school counselor.
Alexandra works with children and families who suffer from chronic and complex conditions, including PANS/PANDAS, Lyme disease, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). She also supports families who are navigating their child’s diagnosis within the school setting, particularly with IEPs and 504 plans. Alexandra also holds a special interest in neuroscience and neurotherapy as they both relate to mental health issues.
With a deep appreciation for functional and integrative medicine, she believes that health is multifactorial, and she aims to go beyond the diagnoses of her patients, examining the underlying root causes of mental, behavioral, and neurological health conditions. At the core of Alexandra’s clinical counseling practice is an integrative perspective. She works closely with Newbridge’s psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP), with an understanding that mental and emotional well-being cannot be isolated from one's physical health, social environment, and personal values. Alexandra takes a holistic approach while counseling, too, aiming to help her clients achieve a sense of balance and harmony in their lives. She provides a safe, calm, and supportive space for children, adults, and their families to be themselves and to gain skills to manage symptoms like anxiety, depression, and the many other related symptoms.
